Author: Gerald LeVert. Arrangers: Gerald LeVert; Edwin Nicholas; Faith Evans; Kelly Price. Gerald Levert is no stranger to inspired collaborations, having worked with Levert, LSG, and his father's band the O'Jays. His duet record VOICES is presented in the smooth, serene manner which becomes him, quietly presenting two engaging new songs--the catchy "I Like It" and the inspirational "Storm Has Passed" with Sherena Wynn--along with classics like "Written All Over Your Face" (sung with its original singers, the Rude Boys) and "I Believe I Can Fly" with the perfectly complementary vocals of Yolanda Adams.
As a member of the 1980s R&B vocal group LeVert, Gerald Levert quickly established himself as a passionate, world-class soul singer with a flair for slow jams and love ballads. In his solo career, from the '90s on, he expanded his role to include producer and songwriter, working with celebrated R&B stars like Teddy Pendergrass and Barry White, and with his father Eddie Levert's band, the O'Jays. He scored over 30 hit singles on the R&B and pop charts, and in the mid-'90s formed the super-group LSG with fellow singing stars Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill. Sadly, Levert died of a heart attack in 2006 at the age of 40, leaving a posthumous album, a Grammy nomination, a book (co-written with his father), and a legion of mourning friends, family, and fans.
