This 2006 Legacy collection focuses on the romantic side of Dolly Parton's work, drawing on studio tracks recorded between 1974 and 1985. The well-selected 14-song set includes the country legend's duets with both her mentor, Porter Wagoner (the buoyant "Please Don't Stop Loving Me"), and her husky-voiced contemporary Kenny Rogers (the smooth, Bee Gees-penned hit "Islands in the Stream" and the chiming "Real Love"). Most notably, LOVE SONGS presents the achingly gorgeous original version of "I Will Always Love You," a song often associated with Whitney Houston, but penned by Parton herself.

Best known as one of the most beloved singers in country music, Dolly Parton is also a successful screen actress. Her greatest talent, songwriting, may also be her least heralded: Parton has penned numerous classics, among them "Coat of Many Colors," "Kentucky Gambler," "9 to 5," and "I Will Always Love You."
