As the raunchy title track indicates, this collection is a return to the music that first inspired him. Sounding like a contemporary Lowell George on songs like "Just Lucky That Way," Parnell is also an expert interpreter of country ballads like "Old Soul" and jam band-style rock & roll like "Don't Water It Down" and "You Can't Lose 'Em All." The gorgeous, bluesy songs "Breaking the Chain" and "Saving Grace" give him a chance to stretch out with some soulful electric and acoustic slide guitar, while the swinging jump blues instrumental "Cool Breeze" provides further evidence of serious musical chops.
Living Blues (p.85) - "[The songs] reveal Parnell to be a gifted lyricist as well as a soulful singer....A superior effort in every respect..."
