This CD is a sampler of Sonny Stitt's Prestige recordings. Stitt (mostly heard here on tenor) is accompanied by organists (Brother Jack McDuff, Don Patterson or Gene Ludwig) on all but one selection but unfortunately half of the performances find him utilizing an electrified varitone sax that watered down his sound and buried his individuality.
