Distributor: MSI Music Distribution Notes: Jean Paul "Bluely" Maunick marks the two decade mark of recording under his alter-ego band Incognito with LIFE STRANGER THAN FICTION in 2001, furthering yet his image as a statesman in funky jazz circles.
Masterminded by sonic guru Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick, Incognito was one of the most prominent British acid-jazz acts of the 1990s. Deftly blending jazz, R&B, soul, and funk, the ensemble--which has included vocalists Maysa Leak and Jocelyn Brown, among others--excelled at smooth tunes equally suited for the club or the lounge. While the group's heyday was the early `90s, Maunick remained active in subsequent years, issuing well-received outings such as 2003's WHO NEEDS LOVE and 2006's ADVENTURES IN BLACK SUNSHINE.
