After Southern rockers Blackfoot scored the first significant hit of their career, 1979's STRIKES, Rickey Medlocke and his crew went right back into the studio, issuing Blackfoot's fourth album, TOMCATTIN', one year later. While it didn't spawn any rock radio favorites, TOMCATTIN' is another solid slice of tough hard rock. Blackfoot lets it rip on such standouts as the album opener, "Warped," as well as "On the Run," "Dream On" (no relation to the Aerosmith song of the same name), and "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme." TOMCATTIN' proved that these Southern boys were going to stand their ground and bash out more Skynyrd-esque rock, no matter what the prevailing trends.
