After a myriad of battle hungry appearances on his crew members' albums, J.R. Writer had already built a rep among hip-hop heads as one of the Harlem Diplomats' best kept secrets. Yet another solo effort to come out of Cam'ron's DipSet empire, 2006's HISTORY IN THE MAKING follows suit with explosive production from Knoxville and the crystal-clear rhyme cadence that has become the crew's signature. With a total of 19 tracks, this CD has its share of bangers but, on the whole, HISTORY IN THE MAKING sticks to the formula with a slew of guest spots from the Diplomats (interestingly, on most tracks J.R.'s flow is indistinguishable from Cam'ron's). Standout tracks include "My Life," "Back Wit It," and "Byrd Call."
