Performer: Boot Camp Clik
Engineer: DJ Evil Dee
Producer: Marco Polo; Large Professor; Pete Rock
Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA)

Notes: Boot Camp Clik: Rock, Sean Price , Tek, Top Dog, Buckshot (rap vocals); DJ Logic. Audio Mixer: Kieran Walsh. Recording information: CDR Studio'z, NY, NY; The Dewgarde Crib Of Hits, Bk Jeratmanyang, NY. Bringing it back posse-style for the Duck Down crew, the rarely-spotted Boot Camp Clik--a Brooklyn-based hip-hop supergroup featuring Smif-n-Wessun, O.G.C., Buckshot, Heltah Skeltah, and Sean Price--returned in 2006 with THE LAST STAND, the group's third album since 1997. Awash in slow and mid-tempo tracks emblazoned with the dusty, cut-up R&B samples of NYC's '90s heyday, Boot Camp rolls thick through piano drops and sparely framed tracks, rapping about money, women, and street pride. Though they occasionally have to pace themselves, they are well-served with studio work by Pete Rock ("1-2-3"), Da Beatminerz ("...But Tha Game is Still the Same"), and 9th Wonder ("So Focused"), as well as several promising tracks from young upstart Marco Polo.
Vibe (p.215) - "While BCC's rugged flows are vintage, the audio on their latest is surprisingly New Age." XXL (Magazine) (p.153) - "[L]ush with pounding production and dense similes. Sculpting an album around a bygone era would be disastrous for most artists, but for BCC it's a welcome return to their roots."
An eight-man collective composed of members of Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, and O.G.C., Brooklyn's Boot Camp Clik first came together for "Cession at Da Doghillee" on Smif-N-Wessun's 1995 debut. The same year, "Headz Ain't Reddee" appeared on the NEW JERSEY DRIVE soundtrack, the Heltah Skeltah/O.G.C. single "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshkah" introduced the Fab 5 formation, and Buckshot and Nervous Records employee Dru Ha formed Duck Down Records--the Clik's home label ever since. While the BCC's first group LP, FOR THE PEOPLE (1997), paled in comparison with previous solo efforts, their three subsequent efforts--starting with 2002's THE CHOSEN FEW-- were critical successes thanks in part to top-notch production from longtime collaborators Da Beatminerz.
