Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA) Notes: The triple-disc This Is Remixed Hits: Mashups and Rare 12 Mixes isn't tremendously different from dozens of other Hypnotic/Cleopatra-affiliated compilations, given its reliance on industrial-dance makeovers of new wave hits (Rosetta Stone remixes Berlin's "Sex [I'm A...]," Die Krupps remixes A Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran [So Far Away]," Razed in Black remixes Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy"). The difference is in its inclusion of oddball remixes (of Ray Charles' "Georgia on My Mind," the Shangri-Las' "Leader of the Pack," and Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" ) and a mash-up which isn't really a mash-up. If it looks like a mess, it's because it is a mess -- and it's barely listenable. ~ Andy Kellman
