Performer: Atlanta Rhythm Section
Producer: Buddy Buie; Bill Lowery
Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA)

Notes: Atlanta Rhythm Section: Ronnie Hammond (vocals); Steve Stone, Barry Bailey (guitars); Dean Daughtry (keyboards); Justin Senker (bass guitar); Sean Burke (drums). As the title suggests, Doraville: Revisited attempts to recapture past glories by the present-day lineup of the Atlanta Rhythm Section. Always a second-string batch of Southern rockers at best, the ARS were nonetheless capable of some solid FM rock hits, and all of their signature tunes are included here, from the breezy "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" and "So in to You" to the heavier "Imaginary Lover" and their tribute to the Atlanta suburb they called home, "Doraville." All are presented in perfectly acceptable versions that don't do any lasting damage to the band's rep -- no brazen attempts to "update" their sound or anything -- but regardless: these are re-recordings from a band thirty years past their prime. Even die-hard fans would rather listen to the original recordings. ~ Stewart Mason
