Various Artists: Sandy Martin (vocals); Teddy 'Zig-Zag' Andreadis (harmonica); Mark 'Muddy' Dutton (bass instrument); David "Chili" Moreno (drum); Brent Woods. Personnel: Sandy Martin (vocals); Brent Woods (guitar). Recording information: Woodworks Studio. CMH does all kinds of tributes to all kinds of people, like the Pickin' on the Wreckers: The Bluegrass Tribute, which was as beautiful as the original album. This set, however, is different altogether. This uncredited band ("the Homewreckers") uses a substandard female vocalist to do by-the-book versions of Gretchen Wilson tunes from her first two records. All one can say is: what's the point? The originals are so far superior to the crap found here that this is a good reason to distrust CMH from this moment out. The charts are sloppy, people are playing by ear and the rhythm section -- unlike the ones on Wilson's fine albums -- play so basically that these tunes come off as utterly lifeless. There is no conceivable reason to pick this up or even give it a spin. It couldn't fool a drunk who's three sheets to the wind. ~ Thom Jurek
