Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA) Notes: Cielo: Seventh Heaven is another in a long, seemingly endless line of double-CD mixes released by Kinkysweet. Little separates these releases from one another, as they're almost uniformly comprised of deep house. This particular entry in the series is named after Cielo, an upscale New York nightclub, and that's its primary distinguishing characteristic. Truthfully, the music isn't bad at all -- in fact, it's quite pleasant, surely conducive to late-night lounging -- but after who knows how many of these Kinkysweet releases, all of them sounding awfully similar to one another, they lose whatever edge they may have had and begin sounding dull and generic. Consequently, Cielo: Seventh Heaven is best enjoyed if you're fairly new to the series and partial to either middle-of-the-road deep house or the Cielo club itself. As for particulars, the two CDs are each mixed by Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff, with one thematically titled "Balearic" and the other "Subterranean." Many of the selected tracks are European in origin, with a couple appearing courtesy of Sonar Kollektiv, and most feature vocals, though sparsely. ~ Jason Birchmeier
