Designed for Desktop or laptop applications, the Aegis Desktop is the ultimate Hard Drive backup system. Engineered to fit the latest Serial ATA (SATA) drive technology and built with a dual USB 2.0 and eSATA interface, the Aegis Desktop is the model of versatility. The Aegis Desktop gives you the choice to utilize either the SATA or USB 2.0 port on your computer. When used with the eSATA interface, the Aegis Desktop supports up to 300 Megabytes per second Data transfer rates so you can backup your data faster than ever before.

Aegis Desktop robust design features a solid aluminum enclosure, great for heat dissipation. This is combined with a whisper quiet ultra-cool fan, which keeps the enclosure at optimal temperatures, extending the life of your hard drive and data. The Aegis Desktop’s versatile, stackable design and convenient hideaway feet which swivel away when not in use, enables the drive to be used in both vertical or horizontal configurations.

Regardless of whether you use a notebook, desktop PC, or Mac, Aegis Desktop is also the ideal enclosure to house your spare 3.5" SATA hard drive. Simply insert your hard drive into the enclosure, plug the Aegis Desktop into the USB 2.0 or eSATA port and you've instantly increased the Storage capabilities of your computer.

The Aegis Desktop also comes with an extensive Software bundle. Apricorn's Data Protection Software Suite for PC and Mac provides Backup & Disaster Recovery and File Synchronization, all on one CD.
