The Iomega® StorCenter ix2, 2-bay is a compact desktop network storage device that offers content sharing with advanced media features and data protection plus cloud convenience — perfect for small businesses, remote offices, workgroups or advanced home networks.

Based on enterprise-class EMC® storage technology, the StorCenter ix2 provides unified storage with easy file sharing, iSCSI block access, and RAID mirroring data protection. The ix2 is an ideal backup storage destination for both PC and Mac® computers on your network. Iomega Personal Cloud offers unparalleled simplicity and versatility for data sharing and protection without monthly fees. Cloud backup capability to Mozy, Amazon S3 or EMC Atmos services provides an additional method to safe-keep data.

Business users will appreciate the robust data protection features such as UPS support, folder quotas, rsync device-to-device data replication, and user replaceable drives for business continuity and disaster recovery. The easy-to-use interface provides no-hassle management. Active Directory support and Configuration Backup and Replay (CBR) round out the comprehensive administrative features. The StorCenter ix2 supports up to five Axis, Bosch or Panasonic brand IP security cameras for basic video surveillance, including storage and playback of video surveillance footage as well as live-view camera support.

Home users benefit from the advanced media features such as the DLNA certified UPnP AV Media Server, PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol), torrent download compatibility, and Bluetooth® upload. Award-winning backup software is included, and RSA BSAFE encryption ensures protected installs and upgrades. Supports PC, Mac and Linux® clients and is VMware® certified for NFS and iSCSI.
