Notes: METANOIA was originally released as a limited edition double 10" and contains instrumental jams recorded during sessions for the band's album SIGNIFY, plus two bonus tracks. Porcupine Tree includes: Steve Wilson. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Porcupine Tree: Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri, Colin Edwin, Chris Maitland . Originally released in 1998 as a limited-edition double 10", Metananoia collects several instrumental studio jams Porcupine Tree recorded during the 1995-1996 sessions for its Signify album. These outtakes are widely considered to be some of the band's most experimental and spacious work ever. The 2002 CD reissue includes two bonus tracks, remastered sound, and expanded artwork. Included are all three parts of "Mesmer" and two parts of the title track. ~ Jason Birchmeier
Formed in 1987, London's Porcupine Tree is one of the most highly regarded progressive rock acts in the genre. Blending influences of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Deep Purple, Rush, and Black Sabbath, the band has released over 15 albums, EPs, and live recordings over its relatively short career. Part classic rock, part psychedelic, and part metal, Porcupine Tree also possesses a wide-ranging fan base. Though never garnering a "hit" single, the band was nominated for a Grammy in 2007.
