Distributor: Allegro Corporation (Dist Notes: Liner Note Author: Gary Tanenbaum. Double Dynamite has to get an obligatory star or two simply because it includes "Soul Man," "Hold On! I'm Comin'," and "I Thank You." Other than those three tracks, other budget comps fare far better in both "best-of" and "introduction-to" categories. Add to this the shoddy sound and it's a "must-pass-by" for sure. ~ Thom Jurek
The definitive '60s soul duo, Sam & Dave had both top-flight songs and one of the world's funkiest and most supple backing bands. The high-energy soulfulness of their performances has been copied by just about every bar band in the country, but never equaled. Their signature tunes "Hold On I'm Comin'," and "Soul Man" are part of R&B history.
