Liner Note Author: J.R. Goddard. Arrangers: Felix Pappalardi; Ian Tyson; Sylvia Fricker. Ian & Sylvia rely mostly on original material for the first time on this erratic record, and for the first time, they employ full modern arrangements on four of the tracks, which sometimes works (their cover of the Bacharach/David tune "24 Hours From Tulsa") and sometimes doesn't (unfortunately for them, on one of their best compositions, "The French Girl"). They also cover songs by Phil Ochs and Scott McKenzie, and their own tunes range from solid numbers in their proven contemporary folk style ("Short Grass") to mediocre. Future Cream producer Felix Pappalardi plays bass. ~ Richie Unterberger
Sing Out! (11-12/94-1/95, pp.160-161) - "...one of Ian & Sylvia's best... some great original songs [and] some strong cover versions of equally powerful folk and country tunes..."
