Distributor: Sony Music Distribution ( Notes: Led by the Wilson sisters, Seattle rockers Heart had two careers, in a sense. The hard-living band collected two of the sexiest classic-rock-standards-to-be in the 1970s with "Barracuda" and "Magic Man," disappeared for a spell, then staged a remarkable resurgence in the mid-'80s as queens of the power ballad, scoring number-one hits with "Alone" and "These Dreams." All these tracks and many forgotten gems are present on PLAYLIST, a greatest-hits collection geared to the mp3 enthusiast.
Led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, Heart struck a crucial blow for feminisim in the male-dominated world of '70s rock. They could switch from powerful, Zeppelin-like grandeur to gorgeous acoustic ballads in the blink of an eye and turned out a stream of radio staples. By the '80s, they were churning out slick pop, but the sisters re-emerged in the '90s in stripped-down acoustic duo format as the Lovemongers.
