Performer: Funkadelic
Producer: George Clinton
Distributor: Select-O-Hits

Notes: Funkadelic: Garry Shider, Glen Goins (vocals, guitar); Calvin Simon (vocals, percussion); George Clinton, Raymond Davis, Fuzzy Haskins, Grady Thomas, Gary "Mudbone" Cooper (vocals); Michael Hampton (guitar); Bernie Worrell (keyboards); Cordell Mosson, William "Bootsy" Collins (bass); Jerome Brailey (drums). Some leftover jams, songs, and funk pieces from the Funkadelic era. George Clinton was in the midst of moving Funkadelic to another label, and the Westbound folk released a bunch of vault material to get another Funkadelic album on the market. There were still some fine cuts, but the random element prevented it from being a great album because it lacked the thematic organization and vision Clinton provided for the concept LPs. ~ Ron Wynn
Established at the dawn of the '70s, Funkadelic mixed hard rock, psychedelia, soul, and funk in equal measure. Led by funk godfather George Clinton, they released a brace of enormously influential albums throughout the decade, buoyed by the liquid bass lines of Bootsy Collins and the mind-melting guitar of Eddie Hazel. Over the time, the line between Funkadelic and Clinton's other project, Parlaiment, became increasingly blurred. They've influenced everyone from rock bands (Talking Heads, Red Hot Chili Peppers) to rap acts (Dr. Dre, Ice Cube), and remain among the most distinctive funk-rockers ever.
