Editor: Richard "Younglord" Frierson. Despite a massive roster of engineers, mixers, and producers, the NOTORIOUS soundtrack is a remarkable capsule synopsis of the legendary the Notorious B.I.G.'s career. Every big hit is here, be it "Juicy," "Hypnotize," or "Warning," and they're all left mercifully unfettered by unnecessary remixes or new vocal contributions. Also included are a few new, tasteful posthumous collaborations, like the Santogold-spiced "Brooklyn Go Hard." But it's the totally raw, utterly early-'90s New York street demos of "Microphone Murder" and "Gangster Raw" that blow this collection's value out of the water, and make it an essential part of B.I.G.'s bulletproof canon.
Entertainment Weekly (p.67) - "[Fans] will relish a handful of rarities, including demo versions of 'Microphone Murderer' and 'Guaranteed Raw'..." -- Grade: B
