Notes: With a sensitively imagined set of chiming songs with acoustic textures, often accompanied by cello, Brooklyn's Matt Pond PA could come across as just another fey group of shaggy post-modern popsters. However on SEVERAL ARROWS LATER it marries its blend of instrumental delicacy and sharp lyrics to a classy, assertive production that rocks convincingly through tracks like "Spring Provides" and the 1980s-sounding "So Much Trouble," and glides smoothly through the sophisticated, multi-layered "City Song."
