Time Life's Classic Country Somebody Done Me Wrong Songs contains 18 tracks of cheatin', lyin', and brokenhearted themes. Apart from the cheesy cover art, this is a decent albeit extremely limited compilation of original country hits, starting with Hank Williams' 1953 hit "Your Cheatin' Heart" and concluding with "Alibis," the 1993 number one hit by Tracy Lawrence. The majority of tracks are standards of the genre that often turn up on similar collections: Jim Reeves' "He'll Have to Go," Dolly Parton's "Jolene," and Kenny Rogers' "Lucille." What makes this grouping of songs attractive is the inclusion of excellent tunes like "Stranger in My House," "Don't Cheat in Our Hometown," and "The Cold Hard Facts of Life," which haven't become stagnant due to the rotation stranglehold of corporate country radio. ~ Al Campbell
