J&R Music & Computer World, a New York City music and electronics retailer, offers a handful of special bargains to lure Internet surfers to its Web site. If a customer walks into J&R and asks for the Internet discount, employees are instructed to give him the cheaper price. "We don't want the Web to be a venue that will undercut our bricks-and-mortar stores," says J&R spokesman Abe Brown.
